Dr Rajiv Sharma has spent more than 25 years in medicine. After his MBBS at Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, he worked as a Medical Officer at the Primary Health Centre in Nithar, Tehsil Nirmand, District Kullu, from 1999 to 2003. He then completed his MD in Psychiatry at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, in 2006.
In February 2007 he founded A Beautiful Mind Clinic in Janakpuri, West Delhi, where he and his team care for children, teenagers and adults with medicines and psychological therapy together.
Mental illness is still surrounded by stigma, and that keeps people from asking for help. Since 2012, Dr Rajiv has explained mental health in simple language on the clinic's YouTube channel. He has appeared as an expert on ABP News, India TV, DD News, MH1, Sahara News and FM radio, and has spoken at schools including DPS R.K. Puram, Bal Bharati Public School Dwarka and St. Mark's Janakpuri, at companies such as Hitachi, BlackRock, Sun Pharma and MakeMyTrip, and at police training programmes.
Outside the clinic he is an endurance athlete: he has completed the Ladakh Marathon and IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, and now coaches family and friends in running.
